A state or province can be specified in the address details of each contact. To select a state or province you can choose from a list with pre-defined states and provinces. The states and provinces of many countries are automatically loaded in the system during installation. States and provinces are used in (confirmation) letters, registration cards, country statistics reports, etc.

Country |
The (alpha-3) country code of the country to which the state or province belongs. This is used to link the state/province to that country. |
Code |
An alpha-numeric code of up to 4 characters. It is recommended to use the alpha-3 code of ISO 3166-2 as defined by the International Organization for Standardization.

Description |
A description of up to 25 characters. The description can be printed on reports. |
Do
NOT change the code once the code has already been used. This
will have the same effect as deleting a state or province, as
explained above.
