Delete Contacts

Amadeus - PMPRO allows you to delete old or incomplete contact details from the system. You can remove contact profiles from the database by purging multiple contacts at one time, or by manually deleting contacts one at a time (explained below).

To delete a contact manually:

1. Open the contact list.

2. Search and select the contact(s) you would like to delete. By using the [CTRL] key several contacts can be selected.
   

3. Open the context (right click) menu and choose [Delete] or click onto the [Delete] button.

4. Amadeus - PMPRO asks if you want to select a contact to transfer linked data to.

a. If [Yes], the contact list reappears and you can search and select a contact to transfer the linked data (reservations, folios, etc.) to.

b. If [No], Amadeus - PM PRO will transfer the linked data to the 'Unknown company, Unknown name' contact.

5. Amadeus - PMPRO asks if you are sure that you want to delete the current contact and transfer all linked data to 'Unknown company, Unknown name' or to ... Choose [Yes] to continue and delete the contact from the database.

Deleted contact profiles are removed from Amadeus - PMPRO indefinitely. They cannot be restored!

Messages

• This contact is used as an A/R account! Continue?

  This message appears if you delete a contact that is used by the Accounts Receivable module. If you continue, the A/R account number will be updated with new contact details!

   

• This contact is linked to an active reservation. Do you want to continue?

  This message appears if you delete a contact that is used in a future reservation. If you continue, the reservation will be updated with new contact details!

   

• Do you want to select a contact to transfer linked data to?

  This message always appears when you want to delete a contact. If you choose [Yes], the contact list reappears and you can search and select the contact that you want to transfer the linked data to.

• Are you sure that you want to delete the current contact and transfer all linked data to 'Unknown company, Unknown name'?

  This message appears if you delete a contact and did not specify a new contact to transfer linked data (reservations, folios, etc.) to. If you continue, the contact will be deleted and all linked data will be transferred to the system's 'Unknown company, Unknown name' contact.

  Linked data will not be lost when you delete a contact without specifying a new contact to transfer data to. The data will be linked to the systems 'Unknown company, Unknown name' contact, which is used as a big repository for data that does not belong to any specific contact.

• Are you sure that you want to delete the current contact and transfer all linked data to ...?

  This is the last message that is displayed before the contact is deleted from the system. Choose [Yes] to continue or [No] to keep the contact.
