The Key card page is used to specify settings to interface with third party Key card and vending systems. Additional interface software must be installed to interface with third party systems. Contact your vendor for an up-to-date list of supported systems.

 

Key card systems replace the "old fashion" keys with magnetic key cards or "intelligent" keys with a chip. Each key can be encoded for a specific room to be used for a limited period (from the guest's arrival to departure only). Without an interface you need to manually encode the keys by entering the arrival date, departure date, room number and possibly additional details into the key card system. If interfaced, the Amadeus - PMPRO system will automatically send all required details during check-in. If the key card system is also linked with other equipment, such as a vending machine, Amadeus - PMPRO can also send extra information to encode on the key. Your guests will then be able to purchase items from a vending machine with a swipe of their key and charges are automatically posted to the guest's bill in Brilliant.

This will cause the creation of the keys for all the checked in rooms!

Most interfaces also have an option to specify the product(s) that should be used for interface charges. In most situations, the product(s) specified in the interface overrule the product(s) specified in Brilliant.
