Tax/Vat Configuration Options

The Amadeus - PMPRO Property Management Suite can be used in different countries. Each country has it's own legal financial requirements and therefore Amadeus - PMPRO has a variety of parameters to configure tax rules to match the country specific needs. Calculation examples and configuration details are provided below. All settings can be changed in the Financial tab page of the Preferences.

Do NOT change any of the settings if Amadeus - PMPRO has already been used. Doing so will cause incorrect historical figures and reporting. Please contact support for assistance if you require a change!

Tax exclusive (net) prices

All rates and prices must be entered as a net amount. Amadeus - PMPRO automatically adds tax when a charge is posted.

• One tax percentage per product

  Preference settings in the Financial tab:

  • Amounts excluding VAT: enabled

  • Enable second tax field: disabled

  • Compound second tax: disabled

  Calculation example

   

  Net to VAT calculation, Net = 75,00, VAT percentage = 5%
  Net	* VAT %	75	* 5	= 3,75 VAT
  100		100
  Net to Gross calculation, Net = 75,00, VAT percentage = 5%
  Net	* (100 + VAT %)	75	* (100 + 5)	= 78,75 Gross

• Two tax percentages per product

Tax inclusive (gross) prices

All rates and prices must be entered as a gross amount. Amadeus - PMPRO automatically deducts the tax when a charge is posted.

• One tax percentage per product

  Preference settings in the Financial tab:

  • Amounts excluding VAT: disabled

  • Enable second tax field: disabled

  • Compound second tax: disabled

• Two tax percentages per product

  This option has been designed for properties/countries who work with the tax exclusive system and should - in general - not be used when you work with a tax inclusive system, as it will result in incorrect tax calculations.

   

  However, this option can be used as a work around for City tax calculations in Amsterdam and Belgium.

   

  Preference settings in the Financial tab:

  • Amounts excluding VAT: disabled

  • Enable second tax field: enabled

  • Compound second tax: disabled

  First  VAT % » Gross to VAT calculation, Gross = 75,00, VAT percentage = 5%
  Gross	* 1st VAT %	75	* 5	= 3,57 (3,571429) VAT
  (100 + 1st VAT %)		100 + 5
  Second VAT % » Gross to VAT calculation, Gross = 75,00, VAT percentage = 10%

  A direct Gross to Net calculation is not possible.

  This option has been designed for properties/countries who work with the tax exclusive system and should - in general - not be used when you work with a tax inclusive system, as it will result in incorrect tax calculations.
