Amadeus PM PRO Installation

Amadeus - PMPRO is usually installed on the application or file server in your hotel network by a qualified Amadeus - PMPRO Installer. The below information is to serve as a general reference guide to System Administrators who would like to understand the Amadeus - PMPRO installation process. Installations vary from hotel to hotel, not all situations are covered in this procedure.

Warning! Do NOT repeat this procedure after you have already used Amadeus - PM PRO as this will overwrite all information you already entered in the system without a warning!

Steps marked with an * (asterisk) are applicable to installations with Amadeus - PMPRO version 10.1 with a PCI compliant configuration and all installation with Amadeus - PMPRO version 10.2 and newer.

  1. Make sure your server meets the system requirements.

  2. Log on to the server as an Administrator.

  3. Start the setup program for Amadeus - PMPRO .

  4. The setup is password protected to prevent unauthorized installation. Enter the password and click the OK button followed by the Next button.

  5. By default the system will be installed on C:\Brilliant. You can change the location but make sure you always install in a folder named Brilliant.

  6. Click the Next button after you have specified the target installation folder. Verify the settings and click the Next button again.
  7. Open the \Brilliant\PMS\Samples folder after the setup has finished. Then open the "language" folder of the preferred language you will use PMPRO.

  8. Copy the Hotel.ini and Ifc.ini files and paste them into the \Brilliant\PMS folder.

  9. Install the Amadeus - PMPRO Common Runtime setup.

  10. * Install PCI compliancy files.

  11. * Install Microsoft SQL server Express.

  12. * Create the ‘PMPRO’ Databases

  13. * Create an SQL Server Login

  14. * Create database users

  15. *  Create database login for PMPRO

  16. * Create SQL Backup

  17. Create a shortcut to Amadeus - PMPRO onto the desktop of "all users".

  18. Share the Brilliant folder to make the Amadeus - PMPRO software accessible by all workstations. This task should be performed by your system administrator. You do not need to share the Amadeus - PMPRO folder in case this folder is located inside a folder which is already shared.

  19. Make sure all Amadeus PMPRO users have full rights and full control to the Amadeus - PMPRO installation folder. This setting must be made on the folder level as well as on the shared folder level. Failing to do so may result in a "Cannot update cursor" error and data loss.

  20. Continue the installation on Amadeus PMPRO workstations.

  21. Continue with the Amadeus PMPRO Configuration.

  22. Create a Amadeus - PMPRO training version after Amadeus PMPRO configuration has been completed.
