Banqueting Setup
2 training video (Video timings)
The banqueting module is centered around so called banqueting items, which represent the products and services you offer to your guest. To plan every aspect of your conference and banqueting reservations, you can add any number of banqueting items to the banqueting section of a reservation.
Banqueting items are grouped into banqueting categories, subcategories and item groups, allowing you to easily drill down to find the items you would like to add to the banqueting section of a conference reservation. Example configuration:

Instead of adding banqueting items to a reservation one at a time, you can also add multiple items in a single step as a part of a banqueting block or banqueting package.
Banqueting Block: a block contains multiple banqueting items. Blocks are intended to serve as "building blocks" of banqueting packages. Each block can be added to an unlimited number of packages. Additionally, blocks can also be added individually to a reservation. When you add a block to a reservation, the system will automatically add all items that are part of that block.
Banqueting Package: a package contains multiple banqueting blocks. When you add a package to a reservation, the system automatically adds all items that are contained in the package blocks.
The usage of blocks and packages is best explained in an example. Let's say you offer the following 4-hour conference packages:
Morning package: breakfast, equipment, coffee break, lunch
Afternoon package: lunch, equipment, coffee break, dinner
Evening package: dinner, equipment, coffee break, snacks
Instead of building each package with all the included items, you can save time by first building the following blocks:
Breakfast: selection of bread, cereal, assorted sliced cold meat and cheese, eggs, juice, coffee and tea
Equipment: projector screen, flip chart, beamer
Coffee break: selection of coffee, tea, juice, cake and sweets
Dinner starters: selections of various starters
Dinner main courses: selections of various main courses
Dinner deserts: selections of various deserts
Snacks: selection of cold and warm snacks
Once you have build the blocks you need, you can create the packages and re-use each block as needed. In the above example you see for example that the equipment block is used by each of the three packages. This not only saves time when you initially build your blocks and packages, it also saves time when a price change needs to be implemented.
